Michael Marks graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Ohio in 2007. He is an avid backpacker, painter, draftsman, and musician. After walking the southern half of the Appalachian Trail this past summer on an art grant, Mike came to Portland, Maine in October to focus on his artwork. He has since become a member of Portland’s Peregrine Press Printmaking Co-Op, and is serving as an Artist In Residence at Acadia National Park in April 2010. His artwork is split into two bodies of work: art that directly addresses place, and the other more suggestive work that interprets experiences within nature.
