CERTIFIED PICTURE FRAMER DesignationAwarded to Portland picture framers
Elizabeth
Fraser of Portland on staff at Casco
Bay Frames in Portland have earned the CERTIFIED
PICTURE FRAMER designation from the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). This achievement permits Fraser to use the
professional designation CPF. The
Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) awards the Certified Picture
Framer (CPF) designation to individuals who successfully meet rigorous testing
of current framing standards. The
CPF is the highest level of professional recognition in the art and framing
industry. Fraser took the 4-hour examination administered by PPFA
in Portland, ME on June 1, 2001. The
test was comprised of 150 multiple-choice questions, all of which reflect the
knowledge and skills required of a professional picture framer. PPFA initiated the CPF program in 1986 to raise the standards of the
framing profession, improve education within the industry, and recognize those
framers who prove, through written examination, acceptable knowledge of
established professional criteria. With nearly 4,200 members, PPFA is the largest international trade
association serving the art and framing industry.
